Institut Français, Berlin, 1998

The installation is composed by pictures in black and white showing different empty offices of the Friedrichstrasse and a diptych : 2 monitors projecting gestures from men at work.
It took place at the French Institute, on the corner of the Kurfurstendamm and the Uhland Strasse (West Berlin), symbolically displacing an East part of the city in the West part.
The whole Friedrich Strasse is under construction, most of the offices are built with standardized model of architecture. They will stay vacant and to rent between 1993 and 1998, waiting to be occupied.
